Once you pass the CSEET exam, you have to register for the CS Executive Programme. This programme costs around Rs. 18,900 (registration, education, & other institutional fees). The CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) is a mandatory national-level entrance exam conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) for candidates seeking admission to the CS Executive Programme, the second level of the Company Secretary course.
Key Details
Conducting Body: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), a statutory body under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980.
Purpose: To assess a candidate's aptitude for the Company Secretary profession and serve as the entry point to the CS course, replacing the earlier CS Foundation Programme.
Frequency: The exam is held four times a year, typically in January, May, July, and November.
Mode of Exam: It is a computer-based test (CBT) conducted through a remote proctored mode, meaning candidates can appear from home or another isolated place using a laptop/desktop (smartphones/tablets are not allowed).
Eligibility: Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the Senior Secondary (10+2) examination or equivalent are eligible.
Exemptions: Certain candidates are exempted from CSEET, including those who have passed the Final Examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), or are graduates/post-graduates (except fine arts) with a minimum of 50% marks.
Exam Pattern
The CSEET is a 120-minute computer-based test (CBT) with multiple-choice questions (MCQs), for a total of 200 marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
